| Hello! Thanks for your interest in my classes. I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself. I first started learning Spanish when I lived in Panama as a child. My stepfather was stationed at the Canal Zone when I was 8 years old. I continued with my Spanish education each year through college. I graduated from Bridgewater College, in Bridgewater, VA. In 1995 I started teaching Spanish at Westminster Academy, which is located in the far west end. I taught Spanish to hundreds of homeschooled students during the 9 years that I was there. I also taught Creative Writing, Spanish Language Lab, and assisted with Drama at the academy. The arrival of our first son, in 2002, prompted me to look for work closer to home! In 2004 I started teaching Spanish classes at my church, and each year I have added more students and more classes. I now have 2 sons, Dakota, born in 2002, and Ferris, born in 2007. I am homeschooling Dakota now, so I understand what it means to be a homeschooling mom! God has blessed me with a wonderful and supportive husband, Rick, and a very helpful extended family which has allowed me to continue teaching. I feel that teaching is my calling and I find it to be a very rewarding career. I enjoy working with homeschoolers, and I appreciate their hard work in class! I also appreciate all of the effort that homeschooling parents put into their child's education! Best wishes for your school year, Tricia McClintock |
