This summer I'm taking a break from Spanish Camp to offer a fun & educational ARTS & CRAFT CAMP June 29- July 2, 2009.
We will meet from 9:30 to 12:30 at Fairmount. Each day we will focus on a different element of art, face some fun 'art challenges', learn a little about famous artists & art movements, and of course spend plenty of time working on our own individual masterpieces! We'll fit in some games, playground time, and snack time too!
During the week we will explore line, shape, color, form, and space. We will paint, draw, work with clay, stamps, stencils, and lots of other materials. Students will create their own individual works of art which we will display at our Art Show & lunch on Thursday. (We'll even create some edible art for our lunch!)
The Arts & Craft Camp will be open to any elementary age students. The fee for the week is $90 and that includes all art supplies, snacks, and lunch on Thursday. If you are interested send me an email for a registration form. rickmcclintock@juno.com
Check out the Arts & Crafts Camp page for lots of info!
Summer 2010
Spanish Camp will be back next year- June 28- July 1, 2010!
Spanish Camp is a fun week! We meet from 9:30 to 12:00 and each day we have a new vocab topic....house & nouns, transportation, animals, foods. The morning goes by quickly as we move from one activity to another! Students get to practice the words in various ways. We play vocab games, work on sticker sheets, make a mini house & zoo, read books in Spanish, work on puzzles, make fun arts & craft projects, and play charades in Spanish! Students will make 1 or 2 pages of a Spanish Vocabulary book each day that they will compile and take home on the last day.
Each day we head outside for a few minutes on the playground, some sidewalk chalk drawing time (to practice the words), and some fun outdoor vocab activities. Some of our outdoor activites include relay races: walk like an 'elefante' this time or the waiter relay race- set the table, serve the food one item at a time! (I call out the items in Spanish as we go!)
After our outdoor time we review a little with a special snack that goes along with our vocabulary- a house built out of crackers and cheese, a pretzel rod canoe with Teddy Graham sailors, goldfish, animal crackers, and more!
On Thursday, our last day, we enjoy a lunch of quesadillas, fruit sculptures, and chips & salsa as we celebrate with a fiesta. (Thursday's schedule runs from 9:30 to 12:30.)
We will meet in room 153- downstairs- at Fairmount Christian Church. Students do not need to bring anything. I will provide all of the materials. We will have snacks & drinks each day and we will have lunch on Thursday. The cost for the week is $90 & that includes all supplies & materials. (I'm a homeschooling mom & I know how these fees add up, so I'm trying to keep the cost down!)
This summer's Spanish Camp is for grades K-5!
